So you want to be a rehabber, eh? There were new laws regarding lead-based paint, starting April 22, 2010. Whether you're doing the work, or hiring it out, do you need to have someone who is a "Lead Safe Renovator" or a "Lead Abatement Contractor" on the job? Do you have to be certified, licensed, trained, simply informed, or what? What if it's just a "little renovation" - remove a few windows, take out a door jamb, or two, sand some window sills, etc.? What are the laws? What are the fines?
Get your questions answered by an instructor for Iowa Lead Safety, and someone who is also a contractor! Find out whether you personally need to attend the minimum 8-hour class, what legal liability you have if you renovate but don't have a certified contractor involved, etc. This meeting will be a big one and we have limited seating, so get there early! The buffet is now being served at 6:00PM and standard meeting fees apply. It will be a bargain! |

Des Moines "Sixth Sense Transformers" Meetup |
We'll continue our mission of learning about the the power of affirmations and visualizations, for the first half of the meeting. If you've done your homework from the last meeting, you have already written 8-10 affirmations and we'll spend time reviewing how that is going for participants. Successes, challenges, and any early results. Depending on how quickly we move through the material, we'll begin to work on creating a "Vision and Passion" statement. (See April 9 for more detail).
Remember that this meeting is open to the public, structured as a Meetup group and there is N/C for attendance. |

This meeting is the kickoff for a new format and a series of new topics. Visit the home page of the Des Moines "Sixth Sense Transformers" for more info and to sign up for reminders about upcoming events. The primary topics for this meeting will be, 1) The MIRACLE of SELF-DISCIPLINE by Brian Tracy, and 2) The POWER of AFFIRMATIONS. There is no charge for attending these meetings, and no "membership" per se -- just an invitation to join the "Meetup Group" so we can be aware of your interest and let you know about future meetings. This is an offshoot of the Two RIvers REIA meetings, so will have a heavy emphasis on Real Estate Investing, Education, Networking and Mentoring. |

Our topic will be " Improving Your Credit Profile". Andrew 'Y', not 'L', will be explaining the FICO scoring system. In 2010, Creditability helped make $130,000,000 in deals happen that would NOT have closed, without their help. While we would all love to NOT have to deal with banks, the reality is, having access to capital through traditional lending channels saves money. There are few sellers, private or hard money lenders, who will NOT ask for a credit report (most do), and the better your FICO score, the cheaper the money, if you can get it at all. Several members have been asking for a speaker like Andrew 'Y', so here he is! |
