All Two Rivers REIA updates occur at our new website -- www.IaREIA.com.   While still under construction, it's much more accurate than what you'll find here.   

This site will remain up and functional until the transition is complete.   



                                       
Two Rivers REIA Mission is to provide:
 
1) Education -- on most every area of residential RE investing
 
2) Networking -- share and learn from like-minded peers.
 
3) Coaching --  We help our members, particularly newer investors, understand the risks first, as we provide guidance to help ensure each project is profitable, second!
   

Many of our members are happy to provide helpful tips at no cost, which is only part of the power of networking!

Every month we strive to have informative, educational meetings which offer great opportunities to network with like-minded peers.   

Annually, we hold at least one Conference, which has become our primary means to attract nationally recognized speakers to share their investing strategies with Two Rivers REIA members.  (Save the cost of Airfare and often logdging, and buy a great program instead -- one that will help you kickstart your business!)

Two Rivers REIA of Central Iowa is a Real Estate Investors Association , an affiliate of the National REIA since October 2006.  

We serve a broad spectrum of Real Estate investor's interests which all include a strategy to make money through the power of free enterprise, while making valuable contributions to our communities.  

We have recently begun a drive to help our members achieve the "Professional Housing Provider" - PhP designation -- which is a 60-hour program not unlike the licensing program required by the IA Real Estate Commission to become a licensed Realtor.  

We are advocates for lawful and highly ethical RE investment practices, which include strategies to:    

  • Buy, fix & resell for cash or on contract
  • Buy, fix & hold
  • Better manage investment grade real estate
  • Make better purchasing decisions
  • Help homeowners avoid foreclosure through short sales 
  • Wholesale properties to other investors
  • Buy performing and non-performing notes (within the guidelines of the SEC and State Regulations, of course)
  • Offer lease options
  • and much more!  

Our choice to part of this network of over 200 groups and 40,000 individual members, provides benefits National REIA provides the big picture framework to help us attain local, regional and national goals.

Dues and Meeting Fees

Monthly Meetings Fees:
  • $5 for members 
  • $20 for 1st guest, $5 for each additional
  • We typically offer pizza at meetings, though the fee is a meeting fee, not a pizza fee.  
  • We guarantee our meetings provide 5 times the value of what you paid, or your money back!
  • Guests who join by the next meeting, receive a $15 credit on their annual membership fee 
Annual Dues: 
  • Individuals (includes one spouse/BP/SO) - $100  
  • Vendor Partners - $150

Our Central Iowa Investor members include investors at all experience levels -- eager beginners, semi-pros, and seasoned veterans -- many of whom seek to hone their skills in one or several areas of RE investing. 

Many of our member have experienced the ups and downs of real estate cycles.  Collectively, we have hundreds of years of investing experience.  Many are willing to share this experience just for the asking.  Membership is nominally priced.  See our membership page for more info!     

Members agree to abide by our Code of Ethics.  The association structure is an LLC while the bylaws are a work in progress.

Constantly changing BUYERS market but with excellent interest rates; lender requirements are off the chart difficult, and ... we need to find new ways to fund deals, attract buyers, do lease/options, rehab for profits, etc.

This is why being a member of Two Rivers REIA can be so very helpful!   The power of networking with other like-minded investors cannot be overstated.   We've recently implemented a more disciplined meeting agenda, including our "deal-a- minute" time to share properties and opportunities!

Our "Power-of-30" Promotional Contest results (for our 2011 Conference)  are in.  Designed to encourage members to reach out to everyone, and to practice networking skills essential to building a Real Estate Investing business. 

Our 3rd Annual Conference is behind us. It started Friday morning, with two different speakers and a reception in the evening.   Saturday we featured two nationally recognized speakers, a luncheon and awards banquet for our contest winners, vendor displays and interaction in the early afternoon, followed by a bus tour of rehab houses from 2-5.  

Speakers were picked specifically because of the indicated interests of our members, through a year-end survey in 2010.

  - 136 pts - Grand prize, Alan Cowgill's "Private Lending Made Easy" program and a 4-day Boot Camp.   This year, while we were 19 attendees shy of our attendance goal to award the Cruise, Craig still won BIG! with free admission to Alan's Bootcamp, and Alan's Program - valued at $997.  Woo Hoo -- way to go Craig!
